Dropping Chris and Winnie off at the airport this morning (at a crazy early hour), we noticed a blind man exiting the vehicle ahead of us.

Turns out it was Major Scotty Smiley, decorated war hero, first blind active duty officer in the Army, athlete extraordinaire, and author of “Hope Unseen” chronicling his experience after losing his eye sight in Iraq. They are flying on the same plane to Denver!!

Since they’d met before, Major Smiley asked if he could “tuck in” with Chris as they navigate the terminals; of course, Chris said yes – what an honor!

Now tell me this isn’t the hand of God – the timing is too perfect to be coincidence, which I don’t believe in anyway. If the beginning is any indication, this is going to be an amazing journey.
