I love this time of year. It is beautiful, and though I’m now quite ready for the frigid cold weather, I am definitely enjoying the coming of fall. We’ve been storing potatoes and onions we grew in our garden, and I’m ready to put up a whole new batch of tomatoes from the planter outside my kitchen window. Growing season is definitely over. Having enjoyed a bountiful harvest, I’m ok with my gardening coming to an end, though I do look forward with great anticipation to starting plants in the spring.
Because of a deep freeze, I have a plethora of green tomatoes. So, I’m going to try and make green tomatoe chutney or green tomatoe marmelade. We’ll see how it goes. We’re definitely going to try fried green tomatoes, too.
